Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are writing to inform you that the New City Rotary Festival and Rockland County Chili Championship, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, September 26, 2026, has been canceled due to safety concerns from predicted severe high winds and an incoming storm. Because the event was scheduled to take place under a tent on a grassy area, local safety advisories regarding high wind gusts mean we cannot guarantee a safe environment for our guests, volunteers, and vendors. We also made this decision early to prevent the unnecessary waste of catering food.
While the physical event is canceled, our fundraising efforts continue. Here is how this impacts your support:
- Raffle Tickets ($5,000 Grand Prize): The raffle drawing is postponed, and the ticket purchase window is being extended! You can still buy tickets online to win the $5,000 first prize at https://newcityrotaryfestival.org/raffle. New City Rotary will host an in-person event in November where the winning Raffle tickets will be drawn.
- Tricky Tray Tickets: We have all of our incredible prize baskets ready! We are continuing to sell Tricky Tray tickets and will offer the opportunity see the Baskets at the in-person event in November. Click here to buy your Tricky Tray tickets.
- Journal Advertisers: We want to extend a massive thank you to our advertisers. The digital Festival Journal is live on the Festival website now and will remain active for the next full year to ensure your business receives maximum visibility.
- Event Ticket Holders: You can turn your ticket purchase into a tax-deductible donation to support New City Rotary's charitable work, or request a full refund. Since no goods or services were provided, donated amounts are fully deductible to the extent allowed by law.

We are so very grateful for your support for our Annual Festival, our 11th to date. I am especially excited that this year’s Festival is at the Rockland Community Farm (Cropsey) and will include our 2nd Annual Rockland County Chili Championship.
Your generous participation and spirit of giving will ensure that New City Rotary continues to create lasting impact both around the world and right here at home. You know, Rotary is more than just an organization—it is a global network of neighbors, friends, and leaders who are dedicated to creating positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world.
This Festival is not only a celebration of our vibrant community but also a vital fundraiser that enables us to continue our service projects. Thanks to your support, we are able to provide assistance to families in need, sponsor educational initiatives, and partner with local organizations to make New City and vicinity an even better place to live and work.
